What I learned from a cab (taxi) driver

People think most valuable lessons can only be learned by spending time with the CEO, Boss or a Politician but in reality common man like milkman, street sweeper or even a cab driver can teach volumes of wisdom.

Our CEO, Boss or any other highly reputed person may teach us how to earn money but common man teaches us how to earn a fortune. A common man talks with 10 times more people than any other man so he get more ideas in a day than all of us combined. Common man many not have financial resources to materialize those ideas but once in action they can give you fortune.

Will 9-5 be enough?

I hit the snooze button for the 5th time but I was still felling exhausted. As I was getting ready for work, my attention was diverted towards the 9 o clock news. “Last night this many people died; petrol prices rising once again; men shot his wife dead. Made me think!! I wake up every day, go to work come home and sleep without giving a thought on what’s happening in the world.

People in Pakistan always complain that things are not right in Pakistan but the question we should be asking ourselves daily is what value we are adding to make a difference in the world. Will 9-5 job be enough to make Pakistan a better place? Yes job is an essential part of life but along with our jobs there are certain things which reflect image of Pakistan to the world.

How to unleash your Creativity

Some say creativity is a gifted ability while others believe that creativity can be unleashed or tapped whenever needed. But I truly believe what Napoleon Hill said in his best seller Think and Grow RichHuman brains are blessed with an enormous ability to be creative but main problem is most of the people don’t know how to unleash their infinite reserves of creative intelligence.”

Newton came across gravitational energy when he was relaxing under a tree. Einstein came across theory of relativity when was relaxing. Thomas Edison faced problems when inventing light bulb. He tapped in his creative brains while he was relaxing on the beach.

From the above examples and many more we can surely observe that human brains tap into their creative brains when they are relaxed. The universe is filled with infinite possibilities we just have to learn how to tap into our creative brains.

Do good deed, even if its a small one

People judge us by our actions but Allah Subhan o Tala judges us by our intentions. If we care about people this will lead us to disappointment but if we worry about Allah this will make our Life peaceful.

Narrated Abu Dharr: The Prophet said, “Do not disdain any good deed, even your meeting with your brother (Muslim) with a cheerful face.” (Muslim)

It is said that whatever goes around, comes around. Most of the people neglect the effectiveness of small and simple good deeds. People think that small deeds won’t do any good. This Ahadees cleary shows that you will be rewarded even on small deeds.

Narrated Jabir that he heard Allah’s Messenger saying, “Every good deed is charity.” (Al-Bukhari)

How to achieve your goals

Now days when I ask people how are you doing? I often get the same reply with a dull tone “Yes, we are good”. But deep down inside I can really feel that they are not living their lives fully. They are struggling for their goals without loving what they do. They have goals but fail to achieve them. On your deathbed you won’t regret the things you did; you will only regret the chances you missed.

One thing I learned from Life is we won’t get what we dream for rather what we deserve for. The thing about Life is it gives you what you ask for. Do dream wisely and Visualize your goals daily.

Breaking News… Is it!!

Last night after finishing my dinner as I tuned my tv to get news for the day. Switching channels with a cup of Coffee in my hand I stopped when red color flashed on the screen claiming “Breaking News“. I increased the volume to hear the “Breaking News”. Reporter started by stating “Just now we came across the news that ‘Reema Khan‘s (famous Pakistani actress) dog got injured and is taken to the hospital’ “. Instantly I regained my senses and saved the cup of Coffee which was about to fell on the floor after hearing this pathetic news.

This really made me think. Is this a thing to worry about? Now days it’s a fashion to butter up things and portray them on media. Which really don’t affect the lives of people. As Wikipedia quotes ”Breaking news, also known as a special report or news bulletin, is a current event that broadcasters feel warrants the interruption of scheduled programming and/or current news in order to report its detail”
