Recent flood in Pakistan killed more than 1,600 people and according to Nadeem Ahmed (head of the National Disaster Management Authority) more than 650,000 houses were damaged. According to the statistics this is the most damaging flood ever in Pakistan. People lost lives, people lost homes and people lost their source of earning.
Everyone in Pakistan is worried on how to donate and will the donation reach safely to the affected people or not but no one is thinking about the cause of flood. It’s time now to think seriously specially the Muslims the cause of flood. Well the simple answer is that Allah Subhan o tala is angry with us and Allah is trying to divert us to the right path. Let us see what Allah says in Quran when HE’s angry:
“When We decide to destroy a town, We (first) send a definite order (to obey Allah and be righteous) to those among them who are given the good things of this life. Then, they transgress therein, and thus the word (of torment) is justified against (them). Then we destroy it with complete destruction.”
Yesterday I saw a silly anchor in television motivating people that “This is natural disaster and we must fight for it” I mean, dear bro we can’t challenge powers of Allah Subhan o tala we need to ask for forgiveness. This flood is the outcome of our own misdoings as Allah says in the Quran:
“And whatever misfortune befalls you, (comes upon you) as a result of that (evil work) which your own hands have done while HE forgives most of your (misdoings)”
(Quran 42: 30)
This clearly conveys a message that when Allah is angry HE punishes HIS people. Apart from donation and all I humbly request to every individual Pakistani to ask for forgiveness from Allah Subhan o tala. Try to do more and more Istighfar throughout your day and pray for the flood affected people in every prayer. May Allah Subhan o tala forgive us for our misdoings and divert us to the right path Ameen Sume Ameen.
