Life is Beyond Degree

Our parents set limited goals for us. This is the mind set, My kid will complete his education, get a degree, go for a job and finally get married. This is the overall goal set by our parents for us. But Life is Beyond Degree. Life is more than just getting a good grade or simply getting a degree for the sake of society. Degree is just a piece of paper that helps you to show off to your relatives. But other than that life is beyond degree.

Degree will help you to face problems in your life; degree will open the first door in your practical life. Your talent will open the second but it’s your attitude that will open rest of the doors. Now there is a difference between talent and attitude. Talent is your inborn ability while attitude is what you do with your talent. Let me elaborate with an example. Saeed Anwar (famous Pakistani cricketer) was born talented but as “Practice makes man perfect”. He practiced hard. 55 days of consistent practice. He practice for 2 hours, play a game, practice for 2 hours then play a game. Now this is consistency towards your goal. If you have a goal in life you have to make gradual increments on daily basics to achieve your goal.

Don’t fall for the trap that degree will help you get a good job and most importantly degree will help you to live a peaceful life. Because non of this is true. Life is less about living on auto pilot and more about facing the storm. Unless we take that first step into the unknown, we will never know our own potential.

Problems will be there but “Don’t bring your problems to the marketplace bring your skills”. One of my favorite lines from the movie Rocky Balboa in which Sylvester Stallone to his son “Life is a very mean and nasty place, it will throw you down to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it but it’s not how hard you get hit; it’s how hard you can take and keep moving forward”.

the-true-purpose-of-education-is-to-make-minds-not-careers-quote-1Now the question you might be asking. How to solve your problems; to this there is a technique suggested by late Nadeem Chauhan (motivational speaker) in one of his seminars. Suppose if I hold an apple and ask you how many apples I have. Well most of you will say one. But if you do some creative thinking, what’s there in an apple; seeds and what if I plant those seeds, I will get a tree and on that tree I will get infinite apples. What you just did is you simulated the whole process in your brain. The front part of your brain is called cortex of brain. It’s generally called Simulation generator. In order to solve your problems you can simply simulate visualize them in your brain and find solutions by thinking. Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison used this technique to solve problems.

If you have a goal you have to live it every day. First thing in the morning and last thing before sleep visualize your goals with full concentration. And in the end just a quotation to support my talk “Formal education will get you a living but self education will get you a fortune”  Jim Rohn. Don’t just dreams your goals. Live them every single day. Think about them, feel about them and most importantly talk about them vigorously. Having a goal is one thing but executing that goal is totally a different story. So wherever you’re don’t just stop on having a degree. Built your skillset. Watch YouTube videos, talk to people who are already perusing your dream and always stay up to date in your current field. Life may not be fair but trust me life is good when you have a purpose in it.
