Breaking News… Is it!!

01 Oct

Last night after finishing my dinner as I tuned my tv to get news for the day. Switching channels with a cup of Coffee in my hand I stopped when red color flashed on the screen claiming “Breaking News“. I increased the volume to hear the “Breaking News”. Reporter started by stating “Just now we came across the news that ‘Reema Khan‘s (famous Pakistani actress) dog got injured and is taken to the hospital’ “. Instantly I regained my senses and saved the cup of Coffee which was about to fell on the floor after hearing this pathetic news.

This really made me think. Is this a thing to worry about? Now days it’s a fashion to butter up things and portray them on media. Which really don’t affect the lives of people. As Wikipedia quotes “Breaking news, also known as a special report or news bulletin, is a current event that broadcasters feel warrants the interruption of scheduled programming and/or current news in order to report its detail”

Breaking News should be a report in which first the news anchor should provide some detail about the news and then raise some questions which will allow people to think. We can’t really change if we don’t reflect on things that matter. There is no need to create panic among the people and misguide them. That would make things worse. So don’t react on things just respond to it. First go to the Internet and do some research about it. Think how you can play your part to make a difference. No matter if it’s small or big, if its good just go for it and GOD will help you.

“The world suffers a lot. Not because of the violence of bad people, But because of the silence of good people!” ~Napoleon Hill. In Pakistan concept of “Breaking News” is misused to distract people from the actual problems. I always find people saying things are getting worse in Pakistan. But these same people every single day pick up rubbish from their homes and throw it in front of their neighbour’s home.

Things won’t really change if we are not willing to change it day by day and bit by bit. Miracles happen but only with those who have faith in GOD and themselves. So from now on, try not to panic when you hear a Breaking News. Just relax and take the necessary steps which can make things better. If you really want to change things start by your own self. Inner reflection is the most effective form of change. Our thoughts really do create our environment. Try helping others with no intention of returning the favor. Rather than angry looks greet every person with a smile. And most importantly stay optimistic always!!!

Very well said bro. As i always say our biggest problem is that we do not have presence in th proper form asap nation we have direction and do not want to follow it and media is playing major role in spoiling the preferences by giving some stupid news the status of breaking news and creating panic.

Really liked the approach you took. Good job. A renowned educationist Mr. Abbas said in a lecture once that newspapers(media) popularizes itself through cheap entertainment at first. Unfortunately they do so at the cost of million of readers (viewers) minds whose minds are already polluted by what they had been systematically been introduced to in the first place. This is a dilemma…all kinds of media and forms of entertainment and like you said, news and its reception has become scandalous indeed.

jazaakALLAH very much for liking the post Sanaa… “cheap entertainment” yes that’s a brilliant analysis… This is a dilemma in our society… corruption is so much common that now we don’t even consider it as anything wrong…. May ALLAH Subhan o Tala guide us on the path of sirat e mustaqeem Ameen Sume Ameen …

This is soooo true ^_^ I’m glad you wrote about this. Nowadays more people tend to forget what really matters and what not. What’s important and what’s just a gossip.

Thanks for this nice one ^_^ and thumbs up again 🙂
